The Operating System for Tax-Strategic Turo Hosts.
An operating system is not a dashboard. It is the layer where decisions become repeatable. FK Command Center exists because a 22-vehicle Turo fleet ran out of road on spreadsheets — and we needed something that would last past the next vehicle.
Most Turo hosts don't need software. They need a guest, a clean car, and a tank of gas. The math works at one or two vehicles because the fleet fits in your head. By the fifth vehicle the fleet stops fitting in anyone's head, and the choice is between hiring an employee or building a system.
What an operating system actually is
"Operating system" gets used loosely. For our purposes, it means three things working together:
- A single source of truth — every vehicle, every trip, every dollar, in one place that nobody disagrees with.
- Repeatable workflow — the same five-step routine for onboarding a vehicle, the same monthly close, the same year-end export.
- A defensible tax position — depreciation, material participation, business-use percentages, mileage, all derived from real data and ready to hand to a CPA without rework.
Take any of those three away and you do not have an operating system. You have a tool with a login.
Why we built it
FK Command Center is not a generic SaaS that pivoted into Turo. It started as our internal tooling for running a 22-car fleet. The first version was a spreadsheet. The second version was three spreadsheets and a folder of receipts. The third version was the realization that we were going to either build a real system or get worse at the business as we scaled.
The cost of an operating system is small. The cost of not having one is invisible until tax season.
What survived from the spreadsheet era is the discipline. What is new is that the discipline is now enforced by the system instead of remembered by the operator.
What the operating system covers
- Fleet roster — every vehicle, status, location, mileage, business-use percentage.
- Trip ingestion — Turo CSV in, allocated trips out.
- P&L per vehicle — revenue, expenses, depreciation, net.
- Maintenance ledger — preventative cadence, repair history, claim records.
- Tax position — Section 168(k) bonus depreciation worksheets, material participation log, 7-day average rental tracker.
- Year-end exports — CPA-ready package in one click.
What it deliberately does not do
FK Command Center is not a marketplace, not a Turo competitor, and not a CPA. It does not file your taxes for you. It does not negotiate insurance. It does not replace operational judgment — it surfaces it. The operator is still the operator. The system makes the operator faster, not optional.
Who it is for
Two profiles get the most value:
- High-income W-2 earners using Turo as a tax-strategic asset, where the deduction defensibility matters more than another five percent of utilization.
- Multi-vehicle operators (typically 2+ cars, often growing toward 10+) where the fleet has stopped fitting in spreadsheets.
If you are a single-vehicle hobbyist, you do not need this yet. If either of the two profiles above sounds familiar, you needed this last year.
